Church Farm Park to Close After Over 20 Years
of Fantastic Family Adventures

It is with mixed emotions that Church Farm Estate Wirral Limited has announced the closure of Church Farm Park, a cherished visitor attraction that has provided joy, recreation, and family adventures for over 20 years. The park, which first opened its doors in 2004, has been a vibrant hub for local families, schools, and animal enthusiasts.

Over the past two decades, Church Farm Park has offered residents a unique blend of natural beauty and recreational facilities, including expansive green spaces, walking trails, farm animals, play areas, and themed family events. This has made the park a local landmark and a source of countless fond family memories.

“While we are saddened to see Church Farm Park close, we are immensely proud of the legacy we have built over the past 20 years,” said Steve Ledsham, one of the Directors at Church Farm. “We are grateful for the support and memories shared by many local families and will work to ensure that this spirit lives on in future projects.”

The decision to close the park comes as part of a broader strategy to enhance the Christmas event offerings each year in December. The Santa Experience and Christmas tree sales will be back in 2025 and the farm park closure will mean that these events can be bigger and better than ever before. Church Farm will also continue to develop the Forget Me Not Fields Natural Burial Ground in order to better serve the evolving needs of the local community. Forget Me Not Fields Natural Burial Ground was recently awarded Best Natural Burial Ground in the North of England by The Association of Natural Burial Grounds based on customer feedback forms. In addition, the purpose-made dog park fields named Dee Dog Park will remain unchanged.

Most of the farm animals at Church Farm have already been re-homed successfully and have gone to sanctuaries, other farm parks and some other local farms. The reindeer will remain at the farm and will be available to view as part of the Christmas events. The farm park closure does mean that family visits, tractor rides, farm parties, school visits, pumpkin picking the Easter Egg Hunt and the ever-popular Family Fright Festival will now not be available. “I’ll definitely miss welcoming families to the farm and showing them our animals on the tractor ride. I hope we’ll continue to see many families again at Christmas as part of our Santa Experience though.” said Matthew Ledsham. “I look forward to supporting the residents of the Wirral in a different way at Forget Me Not Fields too.”
